ICE HOCKEY: Blackburn ice hockey fans could see at least one new recruit this weekend as Bobby Haig's Hawks revolution continues.

Player-boss Haig, a scorer in Sunday's 3-3 thriller against Nottingham, today revealed that he is locked in negotiations with more than one British star.

"Hopefully we will be able to include some fresh blood this weekend," said Haig. "The signings might not be on a full-time basis, but if it improves the strength of the squad it can only be a positive thing for us."

Since dropping down a league, Hawks are no longer in a position to bring in international stars.

However, Haig has faith in the ability of the mystery men.

"They are talented players, no question about that. No teams in this league have big-name imports like we have in the past, but buying British has always been a good policy anyway." If all goes to plan, Haig will parade his new signings in the home game against Flintshire on Saturday (face-off 6pm). Hawks also play away in Flintshire on Sunday.
