RISHTON were more than a little disappointed when their home game against St Mary's College Old Boys was called off because of a waterlogged pitch.

It meant that they slipped one place in the Colborne Trophies Premier Division, with Griffin Celtic going top on goal difference.

Centurions have moved into third place, braving the elements of Blacksnape to take two points from their game with Railway Hotel. Ewood Amateurs, victims of their own success, have now played three games less than their rivals. They moved into the second round of the LFA Amateur Shield with a 3-1 win over Downall Green United.

Alexandra Hotel were also engaged in this competition, defeating Walkden 3-2.Crown Berger took the spoils in the only other Premier League match played against Old Toll Bar.

In the Hi-Tech Replacement Windows Second Division, New Gardeners trailed 2-0 at half-time to Pleasington, but they found their true form and ran out 4-2 winners.

Anchor Hotel maintain their two-point lead after defeating Marleys Wine Bar, and Langho and Witton Albion both had convincing wins to stay in touch. But Rishton Res and Whitehall Top Con continue to struggle at the foot of the table.

In the Third Division Darwen Subs still lead the division by three points. Meanwhile, Worth Avenue travelled to Read United in the first round of the LFA Amateur Shield and came away with a goalless draw.

Bangor Old Boys, victors over Alex Hotel Reserves, move up to second place. Railway Hotel Darwen missed the chance of coming within two points of the leaders when they could only draw with Crown Berger Res.

Brinscall were another side competing in the Amateur Shield but they went down 4-3 at home to Sacred Heart (Accrington). Shock of the day came in the Neales Waste Management Fourth Division where Hordens, who dominated the play, lost 2-0 to St Matthew's Res.

Centurions B got back to winning ways and are close on the heels of Hordens.
