FRAIL elderly people were to be moved from a hospital ward as staff shortages and the flu epidemic forced managers to take action.
A total of 14 old people were to be transferred as Ward L3 at Blackburn's Queen's Park Hospital was closed.
About half of the patients would be moved to a similar unit at Accrington Victoria Hospital and the rest would be given beds on other wards at Queen's Park.
