TWO of Lancashire's most popular competitions have received a super shot in the arm with the announcement of an extended sponsorship deal.
The Lancashire Knockout and Shield competitions - which Daniel Thwaites have supported since 1997 - have now been assured backing up to 2003.
The new three-year deal reinforces the brewery's commitment to cricket in Lancashire, and Thwaites' tied trade sales manager John Cotton said: "We are actively involved at all levels right through from the grassroots.
"Over the years we have built up some very strong relationships with cricket clubs in the county, and it is great to see things developing in this way."
