MUSCLE man Lee Bowers took part in a battle of the brawn in front of millions of TV viewers in a bid to win the title of the World's Strongest Man.
Lee, 32, of Alder Hill Street, Earby, appeared in one of the heats screened on New Year's Day but despite his best efforts finished last and did not progress to the final, which was broadcast last night.
Lee, above with two young fans, won his right to battle for the world title after finishing fifth in the Britain's Strongest Man contest at Alton Towers theme park, which was screened on TV in September.
The world championship was held in Malta and took the theme of mythical challenges to test the muscle power of competitors.
Lee's mum Pat, of Valley Gardens, Earby, already knew the outcome of the world contest heat but was sworn to secrecy.
Lee is currently studying at Burnley College to become a PE teacher.
