HIGH school students are waging war - with the help of soul singer Edwin Starr.
Last night Golborne High staged a 10 minute 'War on Crime' drama, dance and mime production featuring a special version of Starr's hit "War".
Some pupils used signing to get the message across to everyone as part of a Police backed competition aimed at cutting crime and improving community relations.
Dressed in army combat gear the 40 strong cast highlighted the evils of car crime, excessive drinking and drug pushing and showed how to help combat it.
Producer and head of drama Mrs M Hollowell said: "We want the message to be loud and clear, young people do not have to put up with crime in their community."
