A PRINTING firm has been sold in a management buy-out deal,

Ward Knowles of Accrington - one of East Lancashire's oldest firms - was sold to the existing management by its shareholders.

The £12million turnover firm is one of the country's top ten business form manufacturers specialising in sales voice, continuous stationery and betting slips.

"The deal has introduced new blood into sales and gives us the opportunity to bring forward new ideas for product development and investment," said managing director Glenn Smith. "I am confident it will stand us in good stead for the future in what is a competitive market."

The deal was mainly funded by Lloyds TSB Commercial Finance with Blackburn-based Pierce Chartered Accountants and Farleys Solicitors acting as advisers.
