LET'S get our skates on; that's the message from Radcliffe youngsters who want their own skate park.

And Radcliffe Area Board's youth and community sub-group is making tracks to find an ideal location.

A meeting has already taken place to gather information on possible sites, designs and equipment.

And members met with the skating youngsters last week to discuss the matter further.

Area Board co-ordinator Ros Glover said: "There was a very enthusiastic response by the youngsters and they are keen to get fully involved.

"A possible site for a skate pad has been identified on land at Hutchinson Way, but there has been no formal approval yet."

She added: "We are also investigating the funding and grants that are available and if entitled, we will certainly be putting in bids."

Besides in-line skating, there is also a possibility that a skate pad could cater for BMXs and skateboarders.
