EAST Lancashire schools were thrown into turmoil as teachers staged a national one-day strike over pay.
Lessons were disrupted for thousands of children as the second biggest union, the National Association of Schoolmasters and Union of Women Teachers, took action.
Some pupils were given the whole day off as head teachers were forced to cancel classes.
