DANCE pupils are preparing to perform for an audience of thousands at a charity show at the Opera House, Manchester.
Eight young dancers from the Dance and Performing Arts Centre, Eanam Wharf, have won places in the prestigious one-night show in aid of children's charities.
Teacher Jane Eaton said it was the first time the "Born to Perform" team of professional choreographers and producers had come to the North.
Young dancers from all over the country audition for their annual children's show at the Dominion Theatre, London, but this year the standard of entrants from the North was so high, the team decided to produce a second show in Manchester.
Children from all over Northern England, Wales and Scotland competed for places in last month's auditions.
