SOUTH Ribble Borough Council's new chief executive is Jean Hunter.
And she is now looking forward to working with an organisation which has "a record of achievement which is second to none".
Jean, who will join the authority in June from East Hampshire District Council, has also worked for Granada Television, Beecham Products and Leicester City Council.
Originally from Sunderland, married mum-of-three Jean is a passionate Sunderland FC fan.
Jean said: "I look forward to working with such an enthusiastic and committed team of councillors and staff to make sure that the council continues to deliver high quality services and to work in partnership with local communities.
"The council has a record of achievement which is second to none. That is an excellent basis on which to move forward."
Council leader Gina Lewis said: "I am delighted to welcome Jean to the borough and hope her time with us will prove a great success."
