THERE were 66,000 watching Wales in a meaningless friendly. Kids tickets are selling faster than tripe down the M65 -- even if the fayre on offer is little better!

So what of Ewood ?

Mr Walker has stated he intends to continue to support Rovers in the future and this makes sense given the £1billion a year TV contract due next year which would give clubs 30 - 50 £million each.

But Rovers must not lose all the momentum of the nineties when gates averaged nearly 30,000 and the club boasted 20,000 season ticket holders.

To do this, the business plan for the coming year should not be based on the financial bottom line but on filling this magnificent stadium that Mr Walker kindly built.

The only way is through a effective pricing policy as shown by Wales above.

Then, if Rovers return to the Premiership, the financial rewards will follow and fans will gladly pay more to see the world's best players again. It's not only Premiership football at stake, Burnley need reminding who has been East Lancashire's Premier club for most of the last 125 years history.
