POLICE have launched a hunt for three thieves who were foiled in their bid to steal clothes from a popular factory outlet store.

The shoplifting trio -- one white man and two Asians -- were chased out of the Karrimor factory outlet store on the Clayton Industrial Estate, off Blackburn Road, Clayton-le-Moors, at 1.20pm on Tuesday afternoon.

They had been spotted trying to snatch two Karrimor jackets, valued at £280, but dropped their haul when staff gave chase.

Ironically, one of the Asian men involved in the failed theft was wearing a Karrimor jacket!

Great Harwood CID say they are keen to trace the three men before they have strike again -- possibly with more success.

The white man is described as being in his early 20s, 6ft, with short, ginger hair.

The Karrimor-wearing Asian is believed to also be in his early 20s, 5ft 7in, of stocky build with bushy dark hair. His Karrimor jacket was blue with orange writing on it.

The second Asian was also 5ft 7in and was clean shaven.

Anyone with any information is urged to call Great Harwood CID on 353341.
