TO say Preston will be celebrating this Sunday is an understatement - the party began nearly two weeks ago!

But whereas the champagne-swilling at Cambridge and the impromptu rain-sodden dance on Lowthorpe Road on Easter Monday were good fun - the real party takes place on Sunday.

And if you thought last Saturday at Deepdale was one to remember, make sure you are out of the house early on Sunday to get a good view of what will become a treasured PNE memory in years to come.

Thousands of North End fans are expected to bring Preston to a standstill as the jubilant team climb aboard an open-top bus and parade through the town centre, silverware with them.

Emotional speeches are expected to be made on the steps of the Harris Museum before a crowd of supporters who have been through so much with North End over the past few years. Manager David Moyes says: "It is a day we will remember and I am sure will be very emotionally charged.

"I was at the party when we were promoted to Division Two and it is a day I will never forget.

"As usual, the fans have been great and Sunday is just as much about them as it is us."

The bus leaves North End's Deepdale stadium at 11.30am on Sunday, heading down Deepdale Road, on to Ribbleton Lane, Ringway and Friargate before pulling up on Preston Flag Market, where the team will be met by deputy mayor, Rose Kinsella.

Speeches from the Mayor, manager and chairman, Bryan Gray, will follow before the trophy is held aloft in front of the thousands of fans who are expected to turn the town centre into a sea of white.
