AN engineering organisation representing Bury companies has warned stress claims in the workplace are set to rocket.

EEF (Engineering Employers' Federation) North West say stress is set to be one of the most serious issues facing employers in the region.

Sandra Howard, EEF head of legal affairs, said: "The potential extent of the problem is enormous. We have seen a three-fold increase in stress-related inquiries coming into our office in the last six months.

"All responsible employers should have a comprehensive policy in place to protect the their staff and themselves from the problems that stress can generate."
