LOCAL parcel delivery company Business Express has donated £11,000 to the wildlife charity, the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB).

The cash will support its nationwide YOC Wild and Alive project, for youngsters aged between seven and 12.

Business Express, off School Lane, in Bamber Bridge, has been a corporate sponsor of the RSPB funding the charity's corporate newsletter, Avian.

Business Express has agreed to work with the RSPB in encouraging and supporting youngsters with a fascination for wildlife through sponsorship of the YOC Wild and Alive project.

The YOC is the junior membership of the RSPB and currently has more than 155,000 members throughout the country.

RSPB development manager David Spivack said: " We are extremely grateful to Business Express for making such a generous donation, and helping us run the Wild and Alive programme."

Business Express general manager Mick Janicki added: "The Wild and Alive project provides an exciting introduction to working with nature, and we are delighted to be in a position to provide funding."
