AS the event co-ordinator may I, on behalf of the Way of The Cross Steering Group, thank, through your paper, all those who worked so hard to make the event on Good Friday such a great success.

As there were more than 60 in the cast and at least the same number of supporting, technical and administration staff, it would be impossible to name them all, but our special thanks must go to director Carol Lawrence and also to Gary Whittle who took on the demanding role of Jesus.

Additionally, can we thank all who offered their time, premises and financial support. These include the churches of Blackpool, especially New Central Methodist, whose premises were offered so willingly for rehearsals and meetings over an 18-month period.

And the Church of The Sacred Heart who made us so welcome on the day of the event, The Blackpool and Fylde Sixth Form College, Percival and Lockwood Ltd, The Metropole Hotel, The Royal Bank of Scotland, Leisure Parcs Ltd and all other businesses who helped in any way.

We would also like to thank in particular Blackpool Borough Council and the Police without whose help, support and guidance the whole event could not have gone ahead.

Finally a big thank you to all those who came and supported us. For whatever reason you came we do hope you took away with you a greater understanding of the love of God and what we can achieve, not only in Blackpool, if we all work together.

Event co-ordinator,
