A MAN was found hanging from the loft at his home just hours after watching the England versus Brazil game in his local pub.
William Riddle, 31, was found by his wife Nicola at his home in Joseph Street, Barrowford.
Sergeant Mick Heyworth said police were called to the house shortly before 7.45pm on Saturday after receiving a call from the ambulance service.
They arrived to find the body of Mr Riddle hanging from the loft with a rope around his neck.
Sgt Heyworth added: "We are satisfied there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death."
Police inquiries have revealed that Mr Riddle had been at the Victoria pub, Gisburn Road, Barrowford, on Saturday afternoon watching England's 1-1 draw with friends.
Mr Riddle, who has a two year old child, was out of work, but job hunting.
East Lancashire Coroner David Smith has been informed.
