A HOUSING advice day for young people with accommodation problems is being held in Colne next week.

Officers from Pendle Council's housing and community care services will be on hand between 2-4pm on Thursday, June 8,to offer free, confidential advice on a wide range of housing issues such as problems with landlords, council tax and housing benefit, or on how and where to get temporary or permanent accommodation.

Four of the region's housing associations will be there with advice on how to secure a flat or house without a deposit usually required by private landlords.

Save Space, a new facility in Nelson that provides temporary accommodation and support for young people, will also be present.

The event is being held at the Prince's Trust Room at the Open Door project, 1 Great George Street.

Posters promoting the event are already on display throughout the town.

Housing management officer Mark Bottomley, said the event was being held as part of National Housing Week and that all advice was free and confidential. "We will even provide a free brew and butty" he added.
