LIKE all true Rovers' supporters, this season I have felt totally disillusioned and saddened by the apparent lack of effort and commitment from some of the Rovers playing staff.

So instead of just accepting that Rovers have underachieved again and taking a pessimistic attitude, like a lot of supporters are doing (threatening not to support the club next season), I would try to look at the current situation with a positive attitude.

I decided to write to John Williams -- Rovers' chief executive, and bring to his attention my concerns. He wrote back saying my letter covered a multitude of points in a very constructive manner and invited me down to Ewood for a meeting.

I didn't hold back in what I had to say and felt it was a great opportunity to voice the concerns for all Rovers supporters.

I went in very disillusioned, but came out feeling very confident for the new campaign. So, if you have got anything at all that you feel needs to be brought to his attention, I suggest you do like I did -- put pen to paper and find out exactly what the club wants and where it sees itself in the near future.

Here are a few assurances that Mr Williams asked me to pass on -- to show that the club means business next season.

There will not be a stone left unturned to strengthen the squad. Every player working under Graeme Souness's management will not be allowed or tolerated to give anything less than 100 per cent.

Graeme Souness wants Ewood Park to become a fortress of noise next season and asks all supporters to really get behind the team, from the first to last minute in every game. In return, he assures you that his teams will be totally focused and give everything they have got on the field of play.

Jack Walker has also informed everybody within the club, in no uncertain terms, of the importance of obtaining promotion next season. He also reminded us that nothing but victory in both East Lancs derby games would be acceptable.

So there you have it -- the club have put their cards on the table. Now, it is up to us supporters to give the team our full backing.
