POLICE probing a racist attack are appealing for two witnesses to contact them.
Th appeal follows a vicious attack on a motorist who was travelling along a Blackburn road on Sunday evening.
The 33-year-old Asian man was confronted by a gang of youths who forced him to stop his red Honda Accord.
One thug smashed a side window with his fist and tried to grab the keys from the ignition.
He dropped the keys and the terrified motorist managed to grab hold of them and drive off.
Detective Constable Richard Horton, of Blackburn police minorities team, said: "This was a particularly nasty attack. There was a lot of racial abuse.
"We would particularly like to talk to a couple who witnessed the attack."
The incident took place around 6pm in Shaw Street off Johnston Street, Bank Top. The couple who witnessed it were in their 50s and the woman was wearing dark glasses.
The man who smashed the window was white, in his late teens, around 5ft 10in and slim, with short, blond hair. He wore a grey button up shirt and blue jeans.
