BURNLEY FC defender Chris Brass married Colne hairdresser Kim Derbyshire.

The couple, both 24, were married at Colne Parish Church. The two best men were Chris's brother, William Brass and his cousin Paul Kent.

Chief bridesmaid was the bride's sister Janine Nelson, who is married to Matt Nelson, the former lead singer with local group the Milltown Brothers.

The bride's other sister Carolyne and friend Claire Lukey were also bridesmaids.

Other attendants were Sophie Horne, twins Lydia and Leighton Hunt, Matthew Horne and Charlie Dixon.

The couple are on a Mediterranean cruise for their honeymoon. Among the well-wishers who attended the ceremony were Burnley players John Mullin, Andy Cooke, Paul Weller, Alan Lee and former Burnley player Vince Overson.

More than 50 people stood in Church Street as the bride arrived for the ceremony accompanied by her father Ian.

The bride jointly owns the Aura Hair and Beauty Salon, Albert Road, Colne, with her sister Carolyne. Her parents live at Higherford.

An afternoon and evening reception took place at the Stirk House Hotel, Gisburn.
