A 58-year-old Bury woman has died in a horror road crash.
Mrs Gloria Patricia Bryant was killed after her Renault Clio car was in a head-on collision with a Fiat Punto vehicle in Oldham Road, Middleton, early on Saturday (July 1).
Two male passengers in the Clio were also injured, one critically.
Police say the Punto, which was travelling in the direction of Oldham, collided with the Renault head-on and also struck two other cars.
Mrs Bryant, of Windermere Drive, Bury, was trapped in her car for 30 minutes before being freed by the emergency services. She was later pronounced dead at north Manchester General Hospital.
Passenger Mr Ronnie Rafferty Brooks (67), of Albany Drive, sustained serious injuries and is detained at the Royal Oldham Hospital where his condition is described as "critical."
A second passenger, Mr Brian Worthington (63), of Middleton, also received injuries. He is recovering at the same hospital and is described as "comfortable."
The 20-year-old driver of the Punto was treated in hospital for broken limbs and severe lacerations. A front seat passenger declined medical attention.
Meanwhile, Rochdale police has launched an appeal for witnesses to the accident.
