BRITISH Rail chiefs claimed that services in East Lancashire would get better by the end of the year.
BR's annual report blamed late delivery of new trains for causing increasing delays as older diesel locomotives broke down.
The new breed of Sprinter train was expected by the end of the year -- 12 months behind schedule.
