A FAMILY fighting for the return of their missing three piece suite have now been given a wooden frame to sit on!
Julian and Lisa Eatough paid £2,500 in cash for their dream three-piece leather suite from Uno a year ago and paid extra for a warranty.
Six months ago they sent it off for repairs when the leather showed signs of starting to crack and were given a cheap plastic replacement to use until theirs was returned. But in the meantime, Uno went into receivership and since then they have not seen their suite.
After several months of wrangling the couple, who have two children and live in Delph Mount, Great Harwood, have managed to track down the wooden frame for the suite, and Julian has picked up in Manchester. "There was nothing wrong with the frame so that has just been sitting in a warehouse all this time," said Lisa.
"The receivers told us it was ours and where it was being kept, so we went and got it ourselves."
But despite speaking to the manufacturers of the sofa, Confortluxe, at their Belgium and Gloucester offices, the couple have still had no sign of the leather covering.
"No-one seems to know where it is. All we want is our property back," Lisa added.
Uno, which had a major store in Blackburn, went into the hands of the receivers in March with debts of £30million.
About 20,000 customers have been affected by the company's collapse, and administrators Arthur Anderson are still sifting through the debris.
Confortluxe refused to comment.
