A CONSTRUCTION firm worker went into a rage and smashed the wing mirrors on his father's BMW car after he refused to let him borrow it, a court was told.
Burnley magistrates heard how Paulo Mario Rossi, 31, ended up being arrested after being abusive to police.
Rossi, of Deardengate Court, Haslingden, was conditionally discharged for 12 months, after admitting threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour and damage.
The court heard Rossi went to borrow his father's BMW, but his father refused because he had had a drink and he became angry.
Bill Rawstron, defending, said the week before Rossi had started a new job and had been borrowing the family's car.
He went to check the arrangement would be continuing for work on Monday morning and not to borrow the car there and then.
Rossi and his father had a row.
He apologised to the court and to his family, had spent a night in the cells and had put his job in jeopardy.
