ONCE again, the so-called noble art of self defence (boxing) has been shamed by the fiasco in Glasgow in the bout between former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson and lamb-to-the-slaughter Lou Savarese.
People were robbed, witnessing a 38-second nonsensical fight.
Surely, Tyson's record both inside and outside the ring should tell one that he must not be allowed to fight again in Britain without adequate assurances that there will be no more "cannon fodder" opponents for him to attain easy money or further boost his record.
In a word, he should be in a credible fight -- maybe against Lennox Lewis.
Perhaps the biggest laugh was the statement made by the loser -- that he was picked for his experience and durability.
Some durability -- 38 seconds.
