Stable Whispers by Harry Barlow

LES Eyres told me last night that wherever he runs Butterscotch this week he expects him to win.

Last Saturday he did his best piece of work since he arrived at the yard as a yearling. I am off to Catterick on Wednesday and I had a couple of whispers for Maid of Arc who I am told will win for Michael Bell.

In a couple of other races on the same card at Catterick, the Kevin Ryan trained Distinctly Blu is in great form and Mark Birch who does all the work on her at home says she's working better than ever, but Iona Wands says Benzoe, who is owned by a friend of mine Tony Fawcett, will give her a big chance, but I will stick to Distinctly Blu as the course will suit her.

Almazhar will run a big race at the same venue says Les Eyres, but I slightly prefer Dovebrace who was beaten by the Kevin Ryan trained Shanawari Song last week and we highly rate the latter.

I am off to Haydock on Thursday to see Cool Prospect run, I hope it makes the break as there are an awful lot of entries for the race. Cool Prospect has been knocking at the door in some good handicaps lately and owners Michael and Candice Riley have their family over from Ireland so I hope it runs and wins for them, but I will enjoy myself in their hospitality box. A very unusual booking this season at Haydock on Thursday is Jimmy Fortune riding a couple for Alan Berry.

So both Red Ocarina and Only For Gold could run big races. On Friday May King Mayhem could make it a five timer in the Amateur riders race at Warwick.

Ace of Trumps will take all the beating at Beverley on Friday night.

On Saturday at Beverley the Mark Johnston trained Happy Diamond who with Royston Ffrench on board was in all reality a winner last Sunday until Royston misjudged the lead he had, will hopefully repay those who lost them money on him, Mark Johnston will want to put the punters back on his side.

At Haydock the Sir Michael Stoute trained Interlude has been well whispered. Kevin Ryan is expecting a big run from Chorus Girl at Beverley on Saturday but my nap for the day will be the John Dunlop trained Water Jump.

Have a good week. Tips for the Week:
