REGARDING the current panic, cries of anguish and gnashing of teeth by car owners over the 'high' price of petrol, my heart, jokingly, bleeds for them all.

Many eminent scientists say that our children's children are in for a very rough time because of global warming as a direct consequence of us now burning excessive amounts of fossil fuels.

I say treble the price of petrol and spend the revenue on saving some of the lives of the 18,000 children who die every day of malnutrition.
