ARCH rivals Blackburn and Burnley look set to share the same shirt sponsors next season.

Rovers have already announced that locally-based computer firm Time will be their backers.

And the Clarets look set to follow suit, although the name of one of the company's subsidiaries -- possibly Time Talk -- is expected to be the one on Burnley's shirt fronts.

The deal is yet to be confirmed but it appears that Burnley's long search for a successor to P3 Computers is over. The Turf Moor club has said that whatever deal they announce will be a record for the club and with an average shirt sponsorship package in Division One costing £150,000 they are unlikrly to have settled for less than that.

Time are also yet to confirm the news that Burnley and Blackburn will now be in their portfolio.

However, the company, with bases in Blackburn and Simonstone, is looking to branch out further into sports sponsorship.

And public relations manager Gearald mac Griogair said today: "Discussions have taken place with a number of parties but at this stage we have no formal announcement to make."

Blackburn Rovers chief executive John Williams said: "I do not know if it means anything to us at all and I do not comment on the affairs of other clubs.

"Time kept us informed throughout and are part of our machine to back us back to the Premiership.

"This kind of thing has happened before with Sanderson sponsoring Southampton and Sheffield Wednesday and ntl sponsoring Rangers and Celtic."
