TWO men who moved to Blackburn to make a fresh start blotted their copy book when they were caught shoplifting from Tesco.
Blackburn magistrates heard that Frederick Weaver and Stuart Wibberley had been drinking before they went into the Hill Street supermarket and stole three bottles of Jack Daniels, pork chops and talcum powder.
Weaver, 23, and Wibberley, 26, who moved to Gloucester Road, Blackburn, from Windsor, pleaded guilty to theft and were each fined £50 with £65 costs. Basharat Ditta, defending, said the men had come to Blackburn for a fresh start.
But they had had problems with their benefits.
Mr Ditta added: "As a result they had no money and no food and these offences were committed out of desperation."
