Lancashire Under 15s gave their Schoolsnet/Lords Taverners County Championship semi-final hopes a boost with an easy eight wicket win against Cleveland at Farnworth Social Circle CC.

The Red Rose youngsters, unbeaten so far this season, have been in terrific form and Cleveland, who have yet to win a championship game, were no match for the mighty Lancastrians.

The North Easterners, batting first, were dismissed for 42 in 23.3 overs with Andrew Griffiths spearheading Lancashire's bowling attack taking 3-8 and it took Lancashire just 18 overs to reach that total for the loss of two wickets.

Lancashire Under 13s maintained their unbeaten record with a six wicket win against Cleveland at Bolton Indians CC.

Salford's Chris Hilton took for 4-41 to help bowl out the visitors for 138 but that was nowhere near enough as Lancashire cruised home with six wickets to spare.

Paul Rainford (Bolton) and Keith Barker (Accrington) top scored with 33 each. The Under 13s take on Yorkshire in their annual Roses match at Rainford CC tomorrow (Wednesday).

Lancashire Under 12s were celebrating last week when duo Karl Brown and Nick Mooney shared in an unbeaten 130 run fourth wicket partnership to help their side to a 61 run victory against Nottinghamshire at Maghull CC.

Brown top scored with 86 not out and Mooney kept him company scoring 28 not out helping Lancashire to 210-3 from 45 overs.

Earlier, Peter Wallers (42) and debutant Michael Walling (30) had given Lancashire the foundations for a big first innings total with a 90 run second wicket partnership.

Nottinghamshire, in reply, were bowled out for 155 after 44 overs with Jonathan Fawcett Lancashire's main strike bowler taking 4-31.

Lancashire Under 12s were not so fortunate when they went down to Derbyshire by 81 runs in their next match at Maghull CC. Derbyshire declared on 184-4 and then bowled out Lancashire for 103 (Nick Mooney 26).

Lancashire Under 12s look for a quick return to winning ways when they take on Staffordshire at Fleetwood Hesketh School on Thursday.

Lancashire Under 11s drew their match against Staffordshire finishing on 71-7 in reply to Staffordshire's 170-3.
