CRAIG Dean will play no further part in Leigh Centurions' push for Grand Final glory.
The scrum-half has had surgery to cure a groin problem and his season is over.
"It's a disappointment," admits coach Paul Terzis. "But even with a couple of weeks rest, there's been little or no improvement. The only sensible thing to do was immediate surgery."
But Leigh's other long term absentees, Paul Wingfield (ankle) and Alan Hadcroft (fractured leg) still have not been ruled out of playing some part in the semi-final games.
Terzis reports no additional injury problems ahead of Sunday's Preliminary Semi-Final at Dewsbury where victory would put Leigh to within one win of the Northern Ford Premiership Grand Final.
Aussie back rower Heath Cruckshank is added to last Sunday's squad after recovering from an ankle ligament strain.
