LANCASHIRE MEP Chris Davies was today taking a leading role in a battle over the environment.
Mr Davies was due to tackle the issue of whether European environmental law should be enforced in the UK and every other EU country at the European Parliament in Brussels.
The Liberal Democrat is backing called for inspections of factories and other installations discharging pollution into water or air to be carried to the same standard in every EU country.
He said: "It's no good making good environmental laws if some countries choose to ignore them."
