Concern is growing for the safety of a mother-of-five who has been missing from home since Tuesday.
Margaret Sprague, 54, of Sudell Road said she was going to visit a friend and never returned. She is white, 5ft 8in with a medium build, curly brown greying shoulder length hair.
She was last seen wearing a maroon and black anorak, red skirt and black shoes.
Acting Inspector Tracy O'Gara of Darwen police said: "We are very concerned for her safety. She is well known in the town and we would urge anybody with information to come forward."
