LANCASHIRE'S music service has been acknowledged with the prestigious Investors in People Award.
The service provides support to pupils in schools, colleges and music centres throughout East Lancashire. The service also runs a number of high quality orchestras and ensembles.
The organisation also arranged a summer concert in Accrington this week and plans to increase it profile in Hyndburn over the coming year.
The award recognises the quality of the staff development scheme which required every member of staff to identify their training needs.
County Councillor Hazel Harding, chairman of education and cultural services, said: "I am delighted that the music service has received this prestigious award.
"I attend many public recitals which amply demonstrate the musical talents of our pupils.
"This award represents the effort and commitment of everyone involved with the service which enriches the lives of all the young people who take part."
