POLICE have appealed for witnesses after a motorcycle rider was seriously injured in a crash at Heaton-with-Oxcliffe.
The victim, Carol Crundell, 30, from Melville Road, Heysham, hit two cars after being forced to swerve when another rider pulled out on a bend.
She is currently being detained at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary after the crash, in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The rider on the other motorcycle did not stop at the scene of the crash, police believe, possibly because they did not see what had happened.
The rider's bike may have been an old Kawasaki and was metallic burgundy in colour. The rider wore black leather clothing.
Witnesses are asked to contact the road policing unit at Lancaster police station on 01524 63333.
