RAMSBOTTOM kept their LANCASHIRE LEAGUE title hopes alive with a rain affected eight wicket victory over Enfield at Acre Bottom.

The visitors were restricted to 129 for 9 from their 47 overs with David Bracewell heading their scoring list with 33.

For the Rams Mike Haslam helped himself to four wickets, Lee Daggett three and Tommy Read two.

The league leaders side lost another three overs in the reply due to rain and they were given a revised target of 123.

However, prolific professional Brad Hodge came to the rescue, blasting a whirlwind unbeaten 61 off only 53 balls as the Rams cruised to the total in only 24 overs.

In the BOLTON ASSOCIATION runaway leaders WALSHAW go marching on.

The Sycamore Road club picked up their 13th victory of the campaign with a six wicket triumph over Atherton.

And it was coach Barry Hamilton who did the damage with impressive figures of 6 for 51 the last four batsmen departing the crease without troubling the scorer.

Earlier Atherton had run up 116 but identical scores of 37 not out from Bret Collins and Gary Dyson did the business for the Bury side, both coincidentally knocked off 38 balls!

Meanwhile local rivals ELTON made the trip over the tops to Edgworth and returned with a five wicket win.

The home side's total of 120 for 7 was never going to be enough against the Leigh Laners whose professional Tushara Arothe hit a vital 43 runs.

GREENMOUNT continued their fine BOLTON LEAGUE form with a two wicket victory at Heaton.

Pakistan professional Saeed Anwar was again on top form hitting a fine unbeaten 54 and, aided by Jimmy Horrox (39), played a major part in the villagers overhauling the home side's 163 for 6 total.

Mark Stewart was leading wicket taker for Greenmount with 3 for 59.
