A LANCASTER sex beast has been caged for life after being convicted of another sick attack.

Paul Robson, 35, was given the life sentence at Oxford Crown Court on Monday after a psychiatric report read to the court said that reducing the risk he faced to the public would be very difficult, if not impossible to achieve.

The monster struck again in Oxford, climbing through a cat flap and calmly approaching the sleeping woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

He asked her if she had been raped before, because that was what he was going to do. After a lengthy attack he warned her he would return to stab her if she called the police.

Robson's string of sickening offences began in Lancaster in the late 1980s when he was jailed for four years for an indecent assault on on an 11 year old girls.

He was released in 1991 and was only free for a few months before assaulting an eight-year-old girl in Morecambe.

He served five years of an eight year sentence and was back out in 1996.

He moved to a flat in Arnside in the Lake District but locals found out about his evil past and hounded him out.

Robson then moved to a hostel in Carlisle and was soon back in trouble. After a glue sniffing session he approached two nine year old girls in the street and they fled in terror.

Magistrates gave him a conditional discharge after he admitted a breach of the peace and resisting a policeman.

In October 1996, he grabbed a young woman as she walked in the street with her ten year old half-sister but she struggled free and raised the alarm.

He was jailed for five years after he was convicted of false imprisonment, but her served just half that sentence -- and attacked again in Oxford.

The recorder at Oxford Crown Court, Judge Harold Wilson, told Robson: "Your offences are in themselves grave enough to merit a very long sentence.

"In my judgement, you must go to prison and stay there for so long as you remain likely to offend again, until you are so enfeebled by age that you are no longer constitute any threat to women and children.

"You have destroyed or seriously damaged the lives of children and women by subjecting them to degrading sexual humiliations from which ordinary, decent people recoil.

"You are a menace to females and you have in the past either refused treatment or been dishonest with those trying to treat you. In any view the time has come when the community must be properly protected from you, and this requires that you be imprisoned for life."

However, Robson's mother, Rosemary said prison was not the answer to her son's problems.

Speaking after his last conviction, she said: "Where and what are people like my son supposed to do?

"They are hounded as soon as they have done their sentence.

"They can't go back to family. They have nothing coming out of prison. The public don't want them on earth."
