A WEEK into the season, maximum points on the board and a fit squad... boss Andy Preece has a smile a mile wide.

And his message to his team for tomorrow's clash with Wrexham is simple: "Same again please!"

Preece and the Shakers are brimming with confidence after a cracking start to the season and they are determined that the first home match in front of the Gigg Lane faithful will be no let-down.

Dean Crowe, Jason Jarrett, Adrian Littlejohn and Lutel James have all recovered from knocks and Indian striker Bhaichung Bhutia scored two good goals in the reserves 2-0 midweek win at Scarborough to stake his claim.

Everyone is fit and wants to play and the manager wouldn't want it any other way.

"Bhaichung scored twice for the reserves and he's doing all he can to get in the first team. All the players who have been injured are now fit and everyone is vying for a place in the starting line up," said Preece.

"We've got a full squad to choose from and everyone is ready to go."

The only man definitely ruled out is young full-back Matt Barrass, who is still feeling the effects of a mystery virus, but even he will start training on Monday.

Preece is glad of the clean bill of health because Wrexham will be a tester.

Last season they arrived at Gigg without a victory in 16 games and played superbly to win 2-0. From then until the end of the season they were the Division Two form team.

"It will be a test because they are a different type of team to Cambridge because they look to pass the ball around," said Preece.

"They are a good footballing team and they have a new striker from Trinidad called Hector Sam who looks very lively. Brian Flynn has been there for a long time and he knows what he's doing and they were unlucky to lose at Bristol on Saturday.

"Wrexham will be very good technically and very organised and we haven't done too well against them recently so we will have to be at our best.

"Hopefully we will be at the same level as we were against Cambridge though this time I hope we can put our chances away a bit better."

The squad to face Wrexham is likely to be the same 16 that travelled to Cambridge, with Preece and goalscorer Barnes starting up front and Crowe and Bhutia on the bench.

Collins and Chris Swailes will be the centre halves in a flat back four with Lee Unsworth again playing right-back in place of Barrass.

Meanwhile former Shakers hero David Lee - linked with a return to his first club - came on as a substitute for Carlisle on Saturday and has signed a three month deal with the club.

However, he says that he would still love to come to Gigg Lane and hasn't ruled out a move when the three months are up.

Lee told the Bury Times yesterday: "I have signed a three month deal but it doesn't mean I definitely won't be coming to Bury.

"Bury didn't get back in touch with me and an ideal opportunity to go to Carlisle came up but if something can be sorted out at the end of these three months then I would still love to come to Bury."

Kick off tomorrow is 3pm.
