ST HELENS Hockey Club start pre-season training on Wednesday, August 23, and anyone interested in playing in either the men's or the ladies section should attend. The women l train 7.15 - 8.15pm and the men will train 8.15 to 9.15pm. St Helens played in a pre-season tournament at Prescot Leisure centre, where the men reached the semi-final but were beaten by Prescot first team. The pick of the men's goals came from Alan Travis, and Mark Alcock. The ladies team had a good run but they fell at the quarter final stage with some excellent attacking hockey.
