PART of St Helens Linkway was closed for over eight hours when a lorry overturned, dumping a huge pile of sand onto the road.
It happened at 4.55pm on Tuesday, August, 8 near the McDonald's Drive Thru. Emergency services visited the scene although no one was injured. The lorry was righted by 7.05pm but the road was only cleared of sand and re-opened again by 1.15am. No major tailbacks were reported and diversion routes were in operation.
