THE FBI has released the results of its first national study of online fraud. The stats were gathered by tallying the complaints coming into the Internet Fraud Complaint Centre.
The winner was "online auctions" while investment fraud came in second. So hey, let's be careful out there, and be sensible when transacting online. The G-Men are almost E-Men these days, and boast a smashing site, complete with job opportunities, press releases, history of the Bureau and, of course, the Ten Most Wanted fugitives (now, according to the website, celebrating its golden jubilee year). You can easily waste an entire afternoon looking around, and virtually all of it will be interesting.
