A PLUCKY bank clerk refused to hand over cash and foiled an armed robbery last Friday.
The robber, who claimed he was armed, entered the Furness Building Society in Regent Road, Morecambe, at 10am and approached a cashier who handed over a note demanding money.
He said he had a gun and an incendiary device.
When the bank clerk refused to hand over the cash he grew agitated and lost his nerve. He ran out of the building society empty handed and was captured on security camera.
Police are looking for a white man, about 20 years old, who is 6ft tall, clean shaven with a spotty complexion.
He was wearing a dark, woollen hat with a white stripe and a dark coloured, waist length bomber jacket and light blue jeans.
If you have any information call Lancaster Police on 63333.
