WE would like to correct Margaret Bolton (LET, September 7) who wrote regarding to Age Concern Energy Services.

The Age Concern/Powergen gas/electricity scheme is open to all ages regardless of whether they are in receipt of benefit.

However, the scheme does give additional benefits to the over 60s such as an exclusive cold weather rebate of two hours free gas fire heating (in addition to that paid by the Government) each day the temperature drops below zero during December to February; free carbon monoxide and hypothermia thermometer and energy efficiency advice.

By switching to Age Concern Energy Services, Mrs Bolton could benefit from a better value gas and electricity package.

We would be only too happy to provide further details to Mrs Bolton or anybody else interested in Age Concern Energy Services and would ask people to contact their local Age Concern office to see how much they could save.

PAULINE WALSH, Chief Officer, Age Concern, Blackburn with Darwen, King Street, Blackburn.
