A VALUABLE vintage motorbike which two brothers have spent the last seven years lovingly restoring from scratch, has been stolen from a workshop in Prescot.

The 1929 Scott TT-replica model was taken from an address in Warrington Road in the early hours of Tuesday, September 12.

Peter Shacklady, the brother of the bike's owner, John, told the Star: "We are both absolutely gutted because so much time and effort has gone into building up the bike. We have made some of the parts ourselves from scratch and others are original parts that you can't buy anywhere.

"I imagine whoever stole it has no idea of its worth and the thought that someone could now be using it to go scrambling or racing, sickens us."

The bike is black with cream side panels and has the original knee grips which are very distinctive. It also has a purple diamond motif.

The Shackladys' are now offering a reward for any information leading to the recovery of the bike and Peter can be contacted on 0151 426 0910.
