Bold Miners 17 Hindley 16

A 40-yard drop goal by Mark Saunders proved crucial for Bold in this close-fought contest.

Bold found themselves 6-nil down within two minutes, but fought back when Wes Singleton went over after a strong run from Ian Honey. Darren Anders converted.

Just on half-time the Hindley stand-off collected a stray pass and ran 70 yards for a fine individual try.

Bold played down the slope after the interval and determined efforts from Nick Joseph, Chris Kean and Dave Scott resulted in a try for Chris Burrows. Saunders' drop goal added to the Bold tally, but Hindley kep coming back.

With 10 minutes to go Dave Scott combined with Darren Anders to send Nick Joseph blasting over under the posts.

Hindley scored in the last minute, but Saunders' drop-goal provided the difference.

The Grundys Excavations man of the match was Nick Joseph, with Dave Scott, Ian Honey and Wes Singleton also playing well.
