Castleford Panthers 8

Blackbrook 14

BROOK have adopted the nickname Bulldogs and they showed plenty of spirit to come from behind to gain their second away win in Yorkshire in eight days.

Panthers scored first but centre Mark Shaw levelled the scores with an unconverted try just before the end of a hard-fought first half.

Brook began the second half in fine style when winger Neil Babbs collected the kick-off and raced 70 yards through the Panthers' defence. The visitors made the position tell and on the last tackle hooker Rickie Davies found a gap and weaved his way under the posts to score. Jason Mitchell added the conversion.

Chances were still few and far between as the teams cancelled out each other's attack. Then with 15 minutes remaining the home side got back into contention with an unconverted try wide out on the left.

Brook finally made sure of the points though when hard-working second row forward Colin Smith scored the final try of the afternoon with five minutes remaining.

Stand-off Andy Shaw was the man of the match.
