Capital capers WAITING for the train . . .
This excited gang (right) from Holy Cross junior school, St Helens are pictured before setting off on a 1968 day trip to London, to take in sights such as Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament and No.10 Downing Street.
These jaunts were annual affairs, organised by fondly-remembered teacher, Alma Whittle who, sadly, died in 1980 at the age of 58, having taught at Holy Cross for 35 years.
The kids later had to provide some input, in writing essays about the capital.
WHERE are they now, I wonder?
