PRESCOT notched a hard-earned win in this first league game of the season in South Lancs Division Five in a bruising encounter played at frantic pace.
Back-row forwards Daz Smith and Chris Leigh scored tries for the winners with the latter also adding two penalty goals.
Wing-forward John Hunter was adjudged man-of-the-match for Prescot with centre Mark Airey and full-back Ian Hughes also playing well.
